Today was Ribbon Cutting day at the CDC for our new 8 classroom expansion! The project is just a few short weeks away from completion! We were fortunate to be able to welcome our Alabama State Superintendent Dr. Eric Mackey, and our CCBOE State Board Member Mrs. Marie Manning to celebrate this historic day for our staff and students! Thank you to Dr. Barnette and the Cullman County Board for their fantastic support! We can't wait to reveal more pictures of our new facility in the coming weeks! #BeCurious

Some of our high school students visited the residents of Woodland Village Nursing Home to share some holiday joy. They spent some time there handing out handmade ornaments. Moments like these truly define the seasonāconnecting generations and brightening everyone's day. A huge thank you to the residents and staff at Woodland Village for welcoming us!

Polar Express Day! What a magical day! Our students experienced the wonder of The Polar Express right inside their classrooms. We brought the story to life by decorating classrooms to resemble the sparkling night sky and arranging furniture to create "trains". Students listened to the Polar Express book, watched the Polar Express movie, and enjoyed hot chocolate and snacks. A huge thank you to our teachers and staff who made this experience possible!

The weeks before Christmas Break are busy and exciting, but across the school, our teachers know how to embrace the chaos and make the best of it by turning all the holiday fun into hands-on learning!
Here's a post from Mrs. Jessica's Class this past week:
Our hearts grew three sizes on Wednesday as we celebrated Grinch Day! Our students proved that learning is fun with these festive activities:
Literacy Fun: We listened to the classic, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" by Dr. Seuss š, which was a great way to boost our listening and comprehension skills.
Science Experiment: We made the Grinch's heart grow! Using baking soda and vinegar inside a bottle, we inflated a balloon with a heart on it. This demonstrated chemical reactions and cause and effect right before their eyes! š¬
Skill Builders: We played Pin the Heart on the Grinch (spatial awareness and fine motor skills!), enjoyed Grinch-themed snacks, and finished the day watching the movie š¬.
It was a day full of learning, laughter, and lots of Grinchy cheer! Check out the fun below!

What an unforgettable day we had attending the annual Special Needs Rodeo, hosted by the Cullman County Sheriffās Office! It was a truly heartwarming experience, and we were so proud to be part of the over 1,700 students who got to enjoy this event on Thursday. Sheriff Matt Gentry described this rodeo as one of the best ways to kick off their annual rodeo week, and we couldn't agree more! āItās truly heartwarming to see the smiles and joy on the kidsā faces,ā and "It remains one of the highlights of our entire year.ā
We are especially thankful to Bridget Keef for organizing all the logistics and making sure our students could attend! Also, a huge shout-out also goes to the students from CATA who volunteered their time to be peer helpers. Your support and kindness made the day even more special for our kids! We are so grateful to the Cullman County Sheriffās Office for putting on this event free of charge. Seeing the pure joy, the excitement, and the big smiles on our students' faces is what it's all about!
