Teacher Tyler Mitchell brings 18 years of experience to this classroom, equipped with a Bachelor's degree in K-6 Elementary Education from Athens State University and a Masters in Collaborative Education from UAB. She previously taught K-6 STAR Computer Lab, Family and Consumer Sciences, Preschool special education and has been a Special Education Aide.

The TARP classroom, under Miss Mitchell's guidance, is a multi-grade level setting catering to students from Kindergarten to 3rd Grade. The overarching goals of the TARP program are to empower students in navigating their emotions, instilling coping mechanisms, and fostering social skills. An essential aspect of the curriculum involves creating a toolbox of strategies that keep students engaged in the learning process while concurrently focusing on grade-level academic skills.

Tyler employs the "Moving in the Right Direction" levels program as a comprehensive and data-driven approach to monitor each student's progress. This program allows for meticulous tracking of students' skill development, ensuring that they acquire the necessary tools for a successful transition back to their home school environment.

Assisting Tyler in this TARP classroom are Amanda Jones and Beckey Pearl. Their collaborative efforts contribute to the program's success, providing students with a supportive and nurturing learning environment.

Beyond the educational setting, Miss Mitchell finds pleasure in reading, cherishing moments with her family and friends, and indulging in beach outings.
